Well...it has been quite a while since I have updated this Xanga. It has been a busy 4 or 5 weeks for sure. I did arrive back home safely from Bolivia so that is where I'll start, there is much to catch up on. Ashley and I had a life changing experience down there. There are no words to say how much it affected us but I'll share some stories and pictures. There is a special place in my heart for this poor South American country. I hope to return there soon and many times over the next few years. The poverty there is to such an extreme that we couldn't possibly grasp it. The poorest homeless man in America has so much more than 80% of Bolivia's population. Their average income is about $20 a month or $5 a week. That's not a typo...crazy. Below are some photos of our time there. We had the oppurtunity to visit a couple of orphanages (I even spoke at the boy's orphanage and played a little guitar). We also did a medical clinic in a remote village in the Andes Mountains among many other things. Enjoy...and pray for these people. Everyone should go on a trip like this, you will see how blessed we truly are.

Here I am with Moses...the missionary's pet monkey. He was amazing, I want one so bad!

This is the statue of Jesus overlooking Cochabomba. This one is actually taller than the more famous one in Rio de Janeiro. I think it is about 140 feet tall.

My lovely wife with some kids in a mountain village. This was probably the first time they had seen balloons or ever had bubble gum. We would take their pictures and show them afterward. They would freak out. It was the first time they had ever seen a picture of themselves.

Here is me at the boy's orphanage teaching Abram a Bleach song. Abram and I really hit it off. He is very talented and sang us all a couple of songs. We were able to bless him in a major way the next day...

Ashley with a baby at Kjara Kjara. This is a trash dump in Cochabomba that about 100 families call home. I am told it is one of the most extreme poverty communities in the whole world. These people have absolutely nothing and live off of what they find in the city dump. The smell there was unbearable at times. My heart breaks for these kids, they know nothing else.

Dad and I with some families in the village where the medical clinic was held. A lot of these kids were badly malnourished, had worms or other stomach issues due to bad water, meat and other elements.

We bought Abram a new guitar the day we left. Although this only cost us about $50-everything is really, really cheap down there-it completely blew him away. It would be like someone walking up to you and giving you a $20,000 car. But, then again it's not like that because that could happen in America.

Big news!
In less than 48 hrs I will be flying down to Bolivia. Ashley and I will be going on a mission trip with our church. All this has worked out in the last few days. That is such a short time to prepare for a trip like this. I know God will show us things there that we don't see here. And, it's always a blessing to serve people who are truly in need. Please pray for us as we embark on this journey. We will be flying out Friday, February 3rd and returning on Saturday, February 11th.

I made the mistake of searching out some info about Bolivia this week. I hate snakes...knowing we were going to be in the jungle part of the time I had to find out what kind of snakes they had in this fine South American country. I was devestated to find out that there are ANACONDAS and BOA CONSTRICTORS in the jungle! I hope I don't get stalked by one like Ice Cube and J Lo did a few years ago...

It has been way too long since an update. A lot has happened in my life since the last update. The most fun and exciting was a Christmas gift from my folks...a week in Hawaii! And, we did see a star of "Lost" within 2 hours of being on the island. Sorry, no pictures of that.

So, enjoy the pictures. I will write more later.
